If you’re a music lover in Decatur, you won’t want to miss this year’s Oakhurst Jazz Nights on the lawn in front of The Solarium. This annual series features some of the best jazz musicians in the area performing for free in the cool, fall weather. Concerts begin at 7 p.m.
On Thursday, September 28th Will Scruggs will be the featured artist. In addition to his success as a bandleader, Will Scruggs is quickly making a name for himself as one of the top-call saxophonists in the Southeast. In 2002 he was featured as a special guest soloist with the Dave Brubeck Quartet and the Emory Symphony Orchestra. Since 2003 he has appeared on over 25 albums, including records produced by Dallas Austin, Noel Alphonso, and Oliver Wood.
Concerts on the Square | Blue Sky Concerts – Concerts on the Square are scheduled for Saturday evenings at 7 pm in May and September, and are held on the square in downtown Decatur.
On September 29: Georgia Soul Council. Also on September 26th, Wesley Cook is the featured artist.
