Local Happenings

SCIence FRIday Night

If you are looking for an area that offers fun and educational things to do, check out the Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville which is about 30 minutes down the road.  Tellus Science Museum offers many events like SCIence FRIday Night:  An Astronomer Travels to the Stars in Italy with David Dundee on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 7 PM or the Holiday PJ Party being held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 10 AM – 4 PM that is great fun for all ages.

The First Ever Exhibit to Fully Explore Warhol’s Love of the West

Another great place to visit is Booth Western Arts Museum also in Cartersville.   Even ardent fans of American artist, director, and producer Andy Warhol aren’t likely aware that the Pop icon loved the West. He wore cowboy boots (many paint splattered) most days and traveled often to New Mexico, Texas and Colorado, areas where he acquired some of his vast personal collection of western art, pottery, photographs, artifacts, fashion, and accessories. Come and learn about America’s history.

Hiking at Kennesaw Mountain

Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is a 2,965 acre that rises from the rolling landscape just north of Atlanta, towering over the surrounding forest and suburban sprawl that surround it and its smaller, neighboring peak, Little Kennesaw. The mountains and their surrounding National Battlefield Park offer over twenty miles of trails that weave through forests, over mountaintops, and through grassy meadows, and make for a great run, hike or outdoor adventure near town.  Find out more
